Here are all the WIP images of my Rachnera Nendoroid.
I modeled up the spider body assembly of Rachnera in Solidworks. Sadly I couldn’t figure out how to design the body on the computer so I had to make a copy of an existing nendoroid I have and had to heavily modify the body to work for what I needed.
The following is how much resin it takes for each part:
- Hair (front): .220 oz
- Hair (back): .560 oz
- Face plate (standard): .280 oz
- Human body:
- Arms (crossed):
- Spider body (thorax?):
- Abdomen:
- Upper spider leg:
- Middle spider leg: .070oz (each)
- Lower spider leg: .220 oz (each)
- Small spider leg: .080 oz (pair)
- Loin cloth:
The following is a list of ball joints needed to make one figure:
- 8: 8mm ball joint
- 16: 6mm ball joint
- 1: 4mm ball joint
After making my initial molds of the major parts I came to the realization that I needed to remake them because they all had defects after casting the parts. These mostly consisted of small print lines that I missed in the initial mold pour. I also didn’t cast the peg holes. Which was a huge mistake because I would have to manually drill all the holes on all the parts, and I know after doing it a few 16 times that I was not going to be able to keep the quality of the holes consistent like I would like. So make new and updated molds is the best step.
